Gornergrat Dorf Hotel - Zermatt

The location couldn't be better, literally across the road from the train station. A corner room provided fine views of the Matterhorn. I loved having a table and chairs, even a small lounger in the room for enjoying meals. The breakfast selection was great, especially the delicious yogurt. All staff were cute and full of helpful suggestions about the area. The shower floor was quite slippery, and the grab bar was loose, which raised some safety concerns. The furniture did show signs of age, and the balcony could have used a bit more cleanliness. Still, the restaurant served fantastic dinners, highlighting local cuisine. It genuinely was like a nice home base after a day of exploring.

It's nice base for sightseeing and exploring Zermatt. The staff are amicable and attentive and deserve a 3-star rating. The location it offers is perfect, next to everything, town, transport, train's and restaurants Breakfast and the promenade. One of tourist spots - Hohbalmen - is around 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel, truly enjoyed that. Have a drink at the bistro bar. Every time we stay in Zermatt, like to stay here.

All fine, but dated decor

The owner Marcus is extremely friendly and helpful. Very nice dinner and geat value for money. The hotel is a perfect base for expeditions up to the Domhutte/Dom. Right next to the station.

Great location beside Randa train station for Zermatt, quiet, friendly staff, good breakfast, modern facilities including internet access, hot and cold food available all day, free parking. We used taxi service with other guests to take us one way to Zermatt and returned by train.

There was nothing we didn't like.

Our corner room offered amazing views of the Matterhorn, and the staff greeted us warmly and provided helpful local tips. The breakfast featured scrumptious yogurt that we couldn't get enough of.

Really pretty place... Amazingly friendly host... Easy access, step away from the station... One of my best stay experience...

Food is really expensive...

I was not carrying my laptop and was kindly given a laptop to browse the internet.

Room was very small compared to the price I paid.

I stayed for one night as a solo traveler while exploring the stunning Zermatt area. The proximity to the Matterhorn Museum and St Peter's English Church made checking out local sites super convenient. The accommodations were surprisingly spacious, and the recommendations from the staff about nearby activities were spot on. Plus, I enjoyed a delicious meal in the restaurant that really highlighted Swiss cuisine.

Hospitality. Owner was very kind and took care of us very well. It is very close to the station. Couple of minutes of walk from the station.

This place is great, and has everything I need like free wi-fi, luggage storage, and a ski storage area. I still remember how the staff helped me with a phone charger on my first stay. I'm coming back for another trip!

We were in Zermatt for 1 day, had really nice stay, the hotel was fairly clean with magnificent and incredible location to slopes. Location: the venue was just next door to the main train station, and everything, town, transport, train's and restaurants. Popped in Grizzly's Bar & Bistro for shots before sleep, it was just a short stroll away from the venue👍

Very convenient and quiet location near Zermatt, by the train station. No long walk with skis & backpacks. Simple, clean renovated room. Nice bathroom/shower. Access to Internet.

No lobby or common area to meet and discuss with other people.
